Enjoy and check out 4 curiosities about Slackline so you can start super motivated!

1. Brazil has a world champion in sport

The country is already standing out internationally in Slackline! Well, we already have a world champion in the sport: Pedro Rafael, 19, who won the world championship of the modality that took place in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, in 2015.

But that’s not all: Pedro also broke the world record for scoring in Slackline competitions, scoring 420.70 points! Born in Ceará, he rocks the tape and is helping to strengthen the sport not only in Brazil, but also around the world.

2. Many athletes walk on the tape at heights

There are many practitioners who like to increase the level of adrenaline in the practice of Slackline by making new challenges. One of them is walking on the ribbon on the heights! One example is what Romanian Flaviu Cernescu did: he crossed the tape over the Glory Hole water reservoir.

To give you an idea of the size of the challenge, the pit is 60 meters deep, the equivalent of a 20-story building. If you walked across and looked down, you probably wouldn’t see the bottom.

Of course, for most of the time the athlete used protective equipment in case he fell, but at times he made the crossing completely loose. Ah! And he crossed the well eight times in one day!

3. Slackline can be practiced at any age

Anyone of any age can practice Slackline. This is because it is possible to do simpler modalities, and there is no physical contraindication to perform. This means that children, young people, adults, the elderly and people with knee problems, muscle pain or injuries can practice. Of course, any changes should be monitored by a doctor.

4. Helps improve physical fitness

Slackline can be a great option for those who want to lose weight or improve their fitness. As a rule, it is practiced outdoors, so it is very easy to keep yourself more excited about the practice, not least because you can vary the place where you are practicing: parks, beaches, gardens, etc. This certainly helps to maintain discipline in training.

By requiring balance on the part of the practitioner, Slackline makes you improve the muscle tone of the legs and also strengthens the abdominal region. It helps to improve and control breathing and can be a lifesaver for those with back problems, as it helps to correct posture.

Are you an anxious or stressed person? Slackline can also help with this! As you need to maintain focus and concentration to stay in balance, you end up forgetting about other problems and abstracting more, making you be there body and soul, which helps a lot to relax.

And then, did you get even more excited to practice? Leave your impression about the post and about Slackline for us in the comments!
